The Development Agency of the Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region started its activity
22 May 2018. Its task is to contribute through its activities to the improvement of the socio-economic situation in the region with an emphasis on the least developed regions. Our task is to coordinate regional development in the individual districts of the region and to implement development priorities for the Good Region.
TOURISM AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT
We create conditions for development sustainable tourism in the region with an emphasis on its natural and cultural-historical potential. We support local production, regional craftsmen and traditional production, thus preserving it for future generations.
EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT
We operate one-stop shops SPACE, where we offer young people comprehensive services of effective support and guidance for their smooth transition from school to work or return to the labour market.
PROMOTING INNOVATION
Our long-term goal is to motivate, build, cultivate and develop an innovation ecosystem in the region. We create links between industry, universities, research institutions, entrepreneurs and creatives, public administration and the non-profit sector.
Supporting the regional economy
We help small communities in preparing and drawing on EU fundsin the implementation and realisation of already approved projects. We also care about the environment, so we work on projects focused on the circular economy by networking investors, educating schoolchildren or looking for projects that will enable the start-up of a waste recovery plant.
PROMOTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF AMBULANCES
We are opening ambulances where they are missing. We use the income from existing clinics to run them as well as to set up new ones. Our aim is to provide equal access to healthcare for every citizen of our region.
