The project is a change!
The Development Agency in cooperation with Iuventa helps young people and youth workers to implement small projects within the Banská Bystrica region supporting regional development.
Accredited Education The project is a change! allows not only to obtain a certificate with nationwide validity, but also to receive a financial contribution of up to 1000 € for the implementation of the project.
The aim of the programme is to develop and strengthen the practical competences of active young people and youth workers in the BBSK, which they will use on the labour market and in activities in the field of youth work.
During the training, participants will learn how to prepare, present and account for the project. The whole training is free of charge, participants have their accommodation and meals paid for. The training consists of two weekend training sessions and the implementation of the project.

Completed projects serve as a means to gain skills in writing, implementing, evaluating and accounting for the project.
Participants of Project is Change learn skills such as handling finances, time management, responsibility, communication with sponsors, communication with the city/municipality leadership, presenting and defending the result of their work and others.
The purpose of non-formal education is not to implement a project, but to learn project skills.

Schwantner's bench
At the František Švantner Gymnasium, a seating area has been created where you can read more about the life of F. Švantner himself. The participants of the education organised a competition for the most beautiful portrait of F. Švantner, which brought this personality to the awareness of more people.
Reviving old traditions
In the village of Rakytník in July, an event aimed at reviving old traditions took place, the aim of which was to bring traditions to the younger generation. The event featured horse riding, archery, traditional folk dancing, tinkering, pottery and sewing. Participants had the opportunity to try out each of these activities and thus experience first-hand how these traditional activities were carried out in the past. The organisers learned how to organise such an event, which they had to subsequently account for and also present its results and benefits.
The path to the town castle
In September 2020, the revitalization of the Kremnica Castle trail took place in Kremnica. 14 young people took part in the activity and developed a positive attitude towards volunteer activities and public affairs. Through their work, the youth contributed to the improvement of the access to the town's cultural monument and thus became familiar with the culture of their town. The restored path to the castle will also contribute to the development of tourism in the town and to the positive perception of young people by the town's inhabitants.
Hontian Mowing School
The aim of the project was to introduce young people to the traditional mowing style. The event was attended by 17 young people who tried their hand at mowing under supervision. The organisers of the event produced certificates of attendance. Hand mowing is an almost forgotten craft and this event brought it into the awareness of the younger generation.
Preservation of beekeeping in Sliač
In October 2020, a workshop for primary school pupils on the topic of beekeeping was held in Sliač. Pupils were explained the principle and meaning of beekeeping, tried the production of bee products such as candles and also tried the care of the beehive and the hive.
Cultural event Chavale Romale
Members of the Romano Drom youth ensemble planned to organize a cultural event to present Roma culture - dance and food. Due to pandemic measures, the event could not take place, but the members of the ensemble created a collection of Roma traditional dishes and did a dance rehearsal with a demonstration of sewing costumes.
Images of the Old World
Podpoľanie is famous for its folklore and beautiful nature. The participants of the Project is Change project brought traditional costumes, nature, traditions and crafts closer to their peers through online presentations and videos. Due to the pandemic, they were unable to organize workshops for their classmates.

Tree planting
In the village of Olováry, three young people decided to beautify their surroundings and involve their peers in community service. This small project resulted in planting trees, involving their peers in community service and beautifying their surroundings.
