Research and Restoration of the Deserted Castle 2021

In November 2021, thanks to the subsidy for the support of regional development for 2021 from the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, which we received through the Development Agency of the BBSK, we carried out landscaping around the restored tower in the eastern line of the fortification of the Upper Castle. We prepared the stone for next year's rehabilitation of the main entrance gate of the Upper Castle. We prepared the stone dump near the tower in the eastern line of the Upper Castle fortification. We flattened the rubble dumps from the 1990s research in the middle and lower part of the so-called Donč's Castle forecourt. We checked the finds in the soil with a detector, which we placed in the irregularities on the upper and lower terraces of the forecourt of the so-called Donchev's Castle. We placed the sorted stone in the dumps in the middle and lower part of the forecourt of the so-called Donč Castle and in the courtyard of Donč Castle. We cleared the castle from the vegetation. In November, work was also done on the Comitatus tower. A comfortable staircase and a viewing platform made of steel structure were added to it.

In November, we also intensified our work on the completion of the research documentation - so that on 30.11.2021 we will simultaneously complete the field and documentary part of the archaeological research and restoration at the Castle of the Desert in 2021.
