The main objective of the project is the revitalization of the historical natural-landscape Coburg Park in Pohorelská Maša with an emphasis on increasing the resilience of the area to the adverse effects of climate change, promoting biodiversity and preserving the natural and cultural values of the landscape.

The subject of revitalisation is a large park with important historical value, which represents an important element of green and blue infrastructure in the area. The park is situated opposite the Coburg manor house in Pohorelská Maša, close to the national road I/66. It forms a coherent urban unit with the opposite manor house, St Philip's Church and the Coburg Cottage, which is located directly in the park. The brick manor house was built by Ferdinand Coburg's son August in 1834-1835. Opposite the manor house, a precious park was later built and in it a single-storey Art Nouveau building was erected, which housed the administration of the Coburgs' estate. Pohorelská Maša was once the seat of the Coburg ironworks complex, which was spread over eight ironworks settlements along the upper Hron River.

The revitalization of the park will provide space for the presentation of the significant history of the region connected with the processing of iron ore. At the same time, it will be an opportunity for nature, a place to highlight the precious natural values of the surrounding Muránska planina and Nízke Tatry National Parks. The revitalised park will also be an opportunity for the region and its inhabitants, as the park will be connected to the emerging cultural route Coburg Iron Way, which links places associated with the noble Coburg family in Horehronie, Slovakia, and has the potential to connect us with foreign countries.
