Schools for Democracy
During the 2020/2021 school year, the Schools for Democracy project was launched in 8 secondary schools with the help of the BBSK Development Agency in the Banská Bystrica Region.
This successful project draws on the experience of Cultures Interactive, a German organisation that has been working on this topic for 15 years.
The project is based on systematic work in the participating schools in the form of workshops and work with students.
The Schools for Democracy project develops students' critical thinking skills as well as competences in human rights and democracy. The workshops openly discuss these topics and aim to remove stereotypes and prejudices from the minds of young people.
Show your talent
(Show your talent)
The Show Your Talent programme is a whole-school development programme. The programme was created in our region, specifically at the Secondary Industrial School of Transport in Zvolen and at the JUNIOR CVČ.
The program focuses on developing students' strengths and working with them. The project works with both students and faculty at the school to improve the overall climate at the school.
Students who are enrolled in the program take the Gallup tests and work on their projects with the help of an assigned mentor. Students develop their strengths as well as teamwork, management and soft skills such as responsibility, independence, etc.
